The
2006 World Solar Rally in Taiwan invites solar car teams around
the world to compete and experience the beautiful landscape and culture of
Taiwan.
The
race will be held this summer in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The 2006 World
Solar Rally is held in advance of The World Games in 2009.
It is the first time that such a symbolic event is organized by Taiwan.
Apollo
V solar car - Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences
Students
and scientists all over the world will assemble in Taiwan with their solar
cars. The race offers an opportunity for teams to demonstrate their
countries¡¦ technological achievements. Through this event, countries
will be able to exchange and cooperate on the research and development of
renewable energies.
The
2006 World Solar Rally in Taiwan will demonstrate the
applications of renewable energies in our daily lives. Not only will some
of these applications alleviate the concerns with limited resources, but
they can be utilized to protect the natural environment. Through this kind
of international competition, we will be able to showcase the unique
culture and beauty of Taiwan.
Although
Taiwan is a small island, it is filled with buildings and structures that
captures our world view and inspire wonder. There are many engineering
marvels, such as the Taipei 101¡Xcurrently the tallest building in the
world; and Kaohsiung¡¦s 85-story building.
The
exciting route that will be traveled will lead teams past landmarks and
cultural destinations including the Shueishang Tropic of Cancer Park in
Chia-yi, Lukang Tienhou Temple in Changhua, Da-Jai as Jenlan Temple in
Taichung, Chulu Pasture in Taitung, and Fong Kong in Pintong.
The
organizers hope you will join them this year in Taiwan!

CAR RACING EVENT A - Z
A
dream can make all the difference under the sun - when a bunch of high
school misfits in Hawaii, introduced by their new teacher (Halle Berry),
attend a science fair in which they draw up inspiration to build their own
solar car and win a trip to compete in the 1990 World Solar Challenge in
Australia. One of my favourites NK
